“When Zarathustra was thirty years old, he left his home and the lake of his home, and went into the mountains. There he enjoyed his spirit and solitude, and for ten years did not weary of it. But at last his heart changed, – and rising one morning with the rosy dawn, he went before the sun, and spake thus unto it:”

My name is Kyle Bishop. I’m a 25 year old undergraduate student at the University of California, Irvine. I want to be a professional Economist, so after having worked in health care for several years in Eureka, CA I returned to school to hopefully achieve this end. I completed my lower-division transfer work at College of the Redwoods in Eureka and I grew up in and around the Humboldt Bay area.
After having dropped out of high school when I was 17 and then left junior college when I was about 20, I spent about 4-5 years working in health care at St. Joseph Hospital. I was a medical specimen courier for about 3 years, and then worked as an acute care phlebotomist for about a year and a half. It was bitter and rewarding work.
I have studied a lot of things, and continue to do so. I program in Python and a handful of other languages and am pretty keen with the Linux operating system. I’m interested in a wide range of social science and political philosophy topics. I’ve also been playing Go for a few years now, and am about a 9 kyu amateur. Philosophically and politically, I tend to be an opinionated moderate with a conservative bias. I’m an individualist.
I’ve used and abandoned this blog at many points in time and for many purposes. The current resurrection will likely be the most general purpose of them all, and may be the most likely to stick. Having a place to collect and advertise one’s thoughts tends to be a good thing.
